(General News) Another day, another Leftist in the “mainstream” media outed for being a sexual monster and pervert.
This time it’s the former co-host of NBC’s “Today” show, Matt Lauer. The network fired him late Tuesday after allegations surfaced that he engaged in “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace,” according to a statement by the network, The New York Times reported.
“On Monday night, we received a detailed complaint from a colleague about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace by Matt Lauer,” Andrew Lack, the NBC News chairman, said in a memo to the staff. “While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he’s been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident.”
Thirty-four hours after the woman and her attorney visited the network’s Midtown Manhattan office in New York, Lauer became only the latest Democrat-leaning journalist and media figure to be identified as a sexual predator.
This is nothing new for Lauer, apparently, as Lack insinuated. The Washington Times reports that former Today co-host Katie Couric complained in 2012 that Lauer “pinches me on the ass a lot.”
During an appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” in June of that year, Couric — who anchored the show for 15 years — made the startling revelation.
Cohen joked in response, “Wow, I wouldn’t have a problem with that!”
Again, as I noted above, Lauer is only the latest Left-wing media type to be identified as having a tendency to behave badly around women — which is really hypocritical given that Lefties like him and others in the Democratic Party claim they are “champions” of women and “women’s rights.”
As Breitbart News reports, there are many more Democrat-leaning figures in the media, in the entertainment world and in politics.
“To the surprise of absolutely no one, the very same mainstream media that attempted to disqualify then-presidential candidate Mitt Romney in 2012 over the phrase ‘binders full of women,’ the very same media that grinded Republican senate candidate Todd Akin into dust over something he said, appears to be, itself, a depraved institution populated by powerful abusers and their enablers,” wrote John Nolte for the news site.
What’s more, as in the case of Lauer and most of the others, everyone around them knew of their lecherous behavior. But for various reasons — most all of them having to do with wanting something from those meting out the abuse — the victims said nothing.
Now there is an avalanche of complaints and I’m betting that Lauer won’t be the last. Here are just a few of the most recently outed Left-wing pervs:
— David Sweeney, chief news editor of National Public Radio, left the organization following allegations of sexual harassment.
— Garrison Keillor, an icon at NPR, was let go over allegations of inappropriate behavior.
— Charlie Rose, a news anchor and correspondent for CBS News and the Public Broadcasting Service, also fired over multiple allegations of sexual harassment and unwanted touching.
— The charges against Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein — the first far-Left figure to be outed in this “season of outings” — are now legendary (and numerous). (Related: Harvey Weinstein revelations prove Hollywood is a left-wing cesspool of perverts, pedophiles and rapists.)
— Lockhart Steele, an editorial director at Vox Media, fired over an allegation of sexual harassment.
— David Corn, a contributor to MSNBC and the Washington bureau chief for Mother Jones magazine was recently dismissed over numerous allegations of sexual misconduct and unwanted sexual touching.
— Hamilton Fish, the publisher of the famously Left-wing New Republic magazine, was let go following numerous sexual harassment allegations.
And so on.
What’s become clear is that while allegations have been leveled against some conservatives in media, the vast majority of cases involve Democrat-supporting media figures. And the list will grow — count on it.
The so-called “Champions of Women” should be renamed “Champion Gropers.”
